A friend of mine that I met about 4 years ago working as an intern for Walt Disney in 2006, Alyse, came to visit me in Portland for a few days. This was her 2nd trip to the beautiful Northwest, and we had a blast. The first time she came we went all over just so she could see some major things, like Seattle, Pike’s Place, and the very first Starbucks coffee shop. I took her to the Oregon Coast so she could see the Pacific Ocean for the first time, since she is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and currently lives in Orlando, FL (where we met). This time we decided to keep it local, and just in the Portland Metro area. I took her to Multnomah Falls, downtown, Hawthorne and a few other places. We even did a little “Twilight Tour” at the Vista Inn where the filmed the prom scene in the first film. We took our now traditional Ben & Jerry’s photo opp, at the Ben & Jerry Ice Cream shop on Hawthorne, ate at some great local restaurants including Montage, and the Wild Abandon. I even squeezed in time for us to do some crafting, and we took a Earth Day Creative class at the NW Paper Source store. It was a fun and relaxing time, and she seemed to really get a kick out of the Northwest lifestyle. Here a just a few pics from our 4 days together.

A sign at the end of the “walk of fame” for Twilight movie buffs. The cast and the “characters” purchased tiles to mark that they were there.

“Tradition”, our new favorite thing to do when she comes into town. 🙂
Alyse’s last night, we went to a friends show, “Norman”, and then to VooDoo Doughnuts! Great way to end the trip!
